Gregory J. Spinks, 70, of Wattsburg, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Erie, on July 2, 1948, the son of the late, James A. and Donna M. Kubeja Spinks.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John “Jackie” Spinks and his niece, Kimberly Spinks.
Survivors include his brother, Donald Spinks, of Wattsburg, Aunts Margery Pelkowski and Marion Kubeja, both of Erie, nieces Chris Spinks Deveney and Alison Spinks Wyatt, sister-in-law Beth Frombach Spinks, cousins Jan Kubeja Wilson, Joy Kubeja Flamio, Pamela Pelkowski, all of Erie and Natalie Pelkowski Bohrer of Chicago, IL as well as other paternal cousins living across the US and his friends Ron, Bud and Brad.
Greg graduated from Mercyhurst College and received his Master's Degree from Niagara University. He worked as a freelance journalist all his life and wrote for several local publications. Greg was an avid reader especially of history. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. Greg spent many happy days with family and friends at his country property having picnics and gathering around a campfire.
