Obituary for Lois I. Erickson (Porter)
Lois I. Porter Erickson, 88, of Union City, passed away Saturday February 18, 2023 at Embassy of Park Avenue in Meadville. She was born in Corry on February 8, 1935 a daughter of the late Maurice and Pearl Webster Porter.
Lois worked as a lab technician at the Doctors Osteopathic Hospital for 10 years before retiring in 1966. She was an active member of the VFW and American Legion ladies auxiliaries in Florida and Erie. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, plants, bingo, and ceramics.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gilbert V. Erickson and her stepson, Martin C. Erickson.
Survivors include her six children, Allen Erickson, Harold Erickson, Linda Shields (Dave Brown), Donald Erickson (Janelise), Diane Best (John), and Norma Bleasby (Tom); three sisters, Helen Lawson, Margaret Nelson, and Virginia Teed; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
