Obituary for Edward M. Vogt
Edward M. Vogt, 87, of Erie, passed away Monday February 27, 2023 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Wattsburg on July 9, 1935 a son of the late George Vogt and Ettabell Engels Vogt Johnson.
Edward was a member of Berean Bible Church. He enjoyed NASCAR, basketball, and football and playing bass guitar in nursing homes and hospitals as a volunteer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary Sue Wright Vogt; one stepson, Steven A. Moffatt; one sister, Ella Mae Kobielski; and his stepfather, Thelbert Johnson.
Survivors include two sons, John Vogt of Meadville and William R. Moffatt of Erie; three daughters, Diana Vogt, Cindy Vogt of Meadville, and Debra Vogt of Youngsville, LA; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
