Obituary for Emilia T. Bastow (Willert)
Emilia T. Willert Bastow, 94, of Erie, passed away peacefully Tuesday March 28, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Erie on September 10, 1928 a daughter of the late Mathew and Theresa Mangold Willert.
Emilia graduated from Academy High School and the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at St. Vincent Health Center until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and volunteered with the Friends of the Library. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching her grandchildren grow up.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Bastow; one sister, Marie Delio; one brother, Lawrence Willert; and many brothers and sisters in law.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Youngs (Donald) of Harborcreek and Mary Ann Bastow (James Sprague) of Erie; two sons, Richard M. Bastow and Douglas L. Bastow (Cynthia) all of Erie; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Nick), Sarah, Stephanie (Nick), Samantha (Cory), Erin, Trevor (Alexa), and Shannon (Austin); 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Willert of Erie and Elizabeth Weiss (Richard) of Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at St. Luke Catholic Church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke Catholic School, 425 E 38th St, Erie, PA 16504.
