Obituary for William J. Staszewski Jr.
William J. Staszewski, 86, of Greene Township, passed away Tuesday April 4, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Erie on August 10, 1936 a son of the late William J. and Stefanie I. Sadowski Staszewski.
Bill graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1954 and attended Gannon College. He worked as a design draftsman at GE for nearly 39 years until his retirement. On the side, Bill and his father constructed some homes in the Erie area, including his own. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Siebenbuerger Club, the Squaws and Paws Dance Club, the Glenwood YMCA, and the East Lake Jaycees. He enjoyed boating, camping, dancing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 65 years, Mary "Joann" Wagner Staszewski; two daughters, Jean "Jeanie" Schroeck (Carl) and Carolyn Lashinger (Tim) all of Erie; one son, John Staszewski (Catherine) of W. Lafayette, IN; six grandchildren, Eric Schroeck (Ali), Jeremy Schroeck, Stephen Schroeck, Mitch Staszewski, Claire Lashinger, and Madeline "Maddy" Staszewski; one great granddaughter, Avery Schroeck; one brother in law, David Wagner (Patti) of S. Jordan, UT; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Karrie Gilmore, Brenda Young, and the wonderful staff at Lakeland Hospice.
Friends may call at St. Boniface Catholic Church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass there at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
