Obituary for Evelyn Engesser (Mientkiewicz)

Evelyn Mientkiewicz Engesser, age 67, of Greene Township, passed away, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at her residence. She was born on March 26, 1956, a daughter of the late Carl J. and Irene A. Bierzonski Mientkiewicz.

Evelyn graduated from Seneca High School and Erie County Vo-tech in 1975. She liked to stay busy so while being a homemaker and raising young kids she worked part-time for the Wattsburg Area School District. As her kids got older, she then worked as a cashier at Quality Markets for almost 15 years. Most recently she worked at McDonalds. Evelyn loved spending time with her family (especially grandchildren) and traveling when she got the chance. She also enjoyed puzzles, word games, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Engesser; her two sisters, Carla Mientkiewicz and Dian Pencille; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Bares.

Survivors include her son, Anthony Engesser (Kayla) and her grandchildren Derik, Brodon and Makendra of Erie; her daughter, Lynnette Weber and her grandchildren Riley and Benjamin of Grove City; her four sisters, JoAnn Rawa, Beatrice Reese, Marcia Beckerink (Arthur), and Floran Bares; and close family friends Pat and Sandy McConahy.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16504 on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service there at 12 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
