Obituary for Barbara L. Patalon (Serafini)
Barbara L. Serafini Patalon, 84, of Wattsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday June 1, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Erie on October 5, 1938 a daughter of the late William J. and Mary Tatalone Serafini.
Barbara graduated from Villa Maria Academy and went on to graduate from Villa Maria College. She was a former member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Northwest PA for many years and also a teacher at St. Boniface Catholic School for many years. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she served as lector, Eucharistic Minister, and on the board of the Coleman Center Building Committee. She was past president of the parent teachers society and parish council and volunteered with the St. Boniface summer and fall festivals for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Patalon.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Paul Patalon (Tamara) of Wattsburg and Michael Mark Patalon (Claudia) of Springboro; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Caleb Musolff, Gregory Mello (Mercedes), Collin Mello (Tess), Cassandra Bowser (Hunter Rodriguez), and Sherilyn Wilson (Brandon Bottoni); one great grandchild, William; one brother, William Serafini (Joyce) of Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount of Olives Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home. Please mail donations to the funeral home at 5000 Wattsburg Road Erie, PA 16504.
