Daniel J.  Firestone
Daniel James Firestone, 35, a lifelong resident of Wattsburg, passed away Thursday January 16, 2014. He was born in Corry, PA on May 9, 1978 a son of Daniel E. and Debra Gilger Firestone.
Daniel was a volunteer fireman since the age of 14 and went on to serve in the United States Army in Iraq and Afghanistan. He currently worked with FCA as a laborer. He was an avid hunter and was a member of the Eagles Club and the VFW. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and will be missed by many for his teasing ways.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Vera Newman Gilger; a step grandmother, Barbara Gilger; and his paternal grandparents, Richard and Janette Firestone.
In addition to his parents survivors include three sisters, Sonja Firestone of Wattsburg, Brittany Frost-Firestone of Cambridge Springs, and Deborah Firestone of Wattsburg; a maternal grandfather, William "Pat" Gilger of Corry; nieces and nephews, Kelsey and Shayla Firestone; Brian, Alexa and Derek McClelland; and Maria Ertman; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of services there at 7 p.m.. Burial will take place in Lowville Cemetery at a future date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
